My first solo vacation experience

Recently I went on my first solo vacation to Wrightsville Beach and the neighboring city of Wilmington, NC!

Today I will share my experience and the fun pictures of where I visited!

On my birthday, I spent the first day lounging at the beach and got a lot of great pictures and videos of the water! Most of these I’ll be using for reels and posts so I won’t share them all here, but if you are looking for a beach in the USA that has beautiful water and lovely sunsets, I recommend Wrightsville Beach! The people and the community are so welcoming and love sharing stories about the history of the area! Also, BIG S/O to Alex and the girl from Texas who took some of my beach pics!

Later that night I went to Bottega Art Gallery & Wine Bar! Great wines, great music, and overall great vibes! If you are ever in the area I highly recommend checking this spot out! If you’re lucky, you may catch the owner there who is pretty chill and welcoming.

The next day I went to Memory Lane Comics & Toys. Loved this shop and ended up spending a little over a hour in here. They had a lot of the classic comics at discounted prices and figurines of some of my favorite characters! If you ever visit there be careful… I ended up getting so many comics because of the low cost of each item then ended up with a lot of comics to purchase at the end. No regrets but just a warning for my fellow comic bookies :)

During my trip, I visited two art galleries both with great art pieces and friendly workers willing to answer questions and even take my pictures! The first art gallery I went to was called Art in Bloom. The owner Amy Grant was really informative about the history behind the building of the art gallery and was so sweet! She even gave me some recommendations for great places to eat and other local venues to check out. If you are ever in the area and want to contribute to the local community, she told me about an art program for young students called DREAMS Center for Arts Education. Below is an image of their brochure and here is a link to their website: https://givetodreams.org/

This is a clip of the art gallery owner talking about the origins of the art gallery building.

Below are some pictures from New Elements Art Gallery!

When I walked back to where my car was parked, I found this cute indie bookstore called Papercut Books. The lady working the register was very helpful and we discovered via conversation that we both have the same zodiac sign, Cancer! During my trip I met several Cancers , including one with my same birthday! I choose to take this as a sign from the universe that I was meant to visit the area for my birthday this year! Below are some books that stood out to me:

That night I spent a lot of time in Downtown Wilmington. There are so many restaurants, bars, and stores in the area! I went to a speakeasy called The Blind Elephant that fit the vintage theme perfectly. Also, there’s this gelato shop,Gelarto, that I went to twice during my trip because it was so good. Here are some pictures/videos of my days and nights in Downtown Wilmington:

I love everything about this vintage interior setup at The Blind Elephant!

Who thinks they can beat me in a game of mancala? Wishful thinking… :D

On my last day in Wilmington, I managed to take a quick trip to the Cameron Art Museum and eat at their café, CAM Café. The food was yummy and I will return there to eat next time I visit! Here are some of my pictures from the exhibits they had during my visit:

Overall I had a really amazing time and loved meeting the people in Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach! If you are looking for a safe place to do a solo trip, I highly recommend giving these locations a chance!
